Job Opening: Acro, Jazz, and Tap Dance Teacher
Ellenbrook Ballet Academy – Thursday Afternoons
Position Overview:
Ellenbrook Ballet Academy, an established dance studio with locations in Ellenbrook and Joondalup, is seeking a dynamic and skilled dance teacher to specialize in Acro, Jazz, and Tap. While we are a ballet-focused studio, there is a growing demand among our students for the styles of acrobatics, jazz, and tap. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator to join our team on Thursdays to expand our offerings and inspire our students in these vibrant dance forms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Acro, Jazz, and Tap classes for ages 7-15 years
- Design engaging and educational dance lessons that cater to the skill levels and learning paces of all students.
- Provide mentorship and detailed feedback to students to enhance both their technique and performance skills.
- Coordinate with junior assistants and leverage their support to ensure smooth class operations.
- Offer optional private lessons for competition preparation and technique improvement.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment that also emphasizes discipline and respect.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in teaching Acro, Jazz, and Tap dance styles.
- Strong ability to choreograph routines for classes and competitions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate students.
- A firm yet supportive teaching approach to maintain class order and decorum.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- We currently follow the Glen Wood Tap syllabus, so experience with this syllabus is a bonus
Schedule:
- Regular classes every Thursday from 3:15 PM to 7:00 PM.
- Additional opportunities available for private coaching sessions with students for competition solos or technique building from 7pm onwards
